• Collection Development

We have a variety of book lists to help you select appropriate materials, but please do not hesitate to ask our friendly children's staff for help.

Established by Burbank Municipal Code, the seven Council-appointed members serve four-year terms.

Volunteers are an important part of the Burbank Public Library team, and we welcome you to join us as a volunteer!
 

Burbank Public Library will close the following dates in 2026:

Dewey was unveiled as the new Burbank Library mascot on May 21, 2014. The library mascot design contest was a volunteer effort of the Burbank Neighborhood Leadership Program Class of 2014.

For one out of five adults in the United States, reading this paragraph is either difficult or impossible.

Summer Reading 

Welcome to a very different year of Summer Reading with the Burbank Public Library!

If you are a Burbank resident unable to come to the library, let Burbank Public Library come to you! Each homebound person is matched with a volunteer, who will deliver library materials every six weeks on a day and time agreed upon.

The Burbank Central Library and two branch libraries, Buena Vista Branch and Northwest Branch, 
offer an extensive collection of materials, expert research staff, and supportive services.
