Guide to 3D Design & Printing

3D printing is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model. Our 3D Printer and software applications available in the Spark! Digital Media Lab can be used to learn the basics of 3D design and printing.

In the Lab

  • 1 Dremel 3D Printer
  • PLA & ECO-ABS filament

  • Blender: a 3D computer graphics software toolset
  • Tinkercad: a web-based 3D modeling program, known for its ease of use

The lab is outfitted with 4 Mac and 4 PC desktops. Most software is available on all desktops.
